Shatten Design Hammered Dulcimer Pickups
Due to the size and construction of hammered dulcimers, we felt that the best balance and accuracy of sound reproduction could only be achieved by using two separate transducer sensing units.
As we did with our piano pickup system, we've taken our incredibly responsive "dual element system" and applied it to our hammered dulcimer pickup to give you unsurpassed response and faithful, natural sound quality.
The HD2 pickup system mounts quickly and easily to the underside of the hammered dulcimer with supplied double sided tape.
Each transducer unit contains 2 separate piezos working in tandem to enhance sound quality and reduce the possibility of feedback. The units are strongly built and measure approximately 2 3/4" in length, 1 1/2" in width, and 1/2" in thickness.
Each transducer is prewired to a 10 foot shielded Mogami cable with a heavy duty 1/4" output plug for stereo configurations. For Mono applications, a 1/4" 'Y' adapter is included.
This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.).
Tristander System dulcimer stand £350.00
(telescopic tripod stand that attaches to the back of your dulcimer)
This professional quality system is fully adjustable, extremely portable, and securely holds your dulcimer in any playing situation. Telescoping black aluminum legs (adjustable in length from 15" to 47") thread into three black-finished cast-aluminum brackets which can be screwed to the back of any hammered dulcimer. Adjust the legs individually to change the tilt or level of the instrument and you are guaranteed a comfortable and secure stance, even on non-level surfaces. Brackets project 1.75" from the back of the instrument. Our soft cases accommodate a dulcimer with brackets attached, and the legs fit into the case’s interior leg slot. System weighs approx. 3 lbs. and comes with screws and easy mounting instructions.

Dampers for the Dusty Strings 16/15 £250.00
(works with any damper ready D45 16/15 Dusty Strings Dulcimer)
As a sustain control device for the dulcimer, dampers provide a remarkable range of tonal effect, from the rich and complex natural voice of the undamped strings to a wonderful, wholly muted marimba-like tone with zero sustain. The player can hold the pedal down for complete damping, or integrate light, quick taps to clear sustain between chord changes and to accentuate phrasing, giving tunes a sophisticated, articulate sound. Once experienced, people tell us they’d never go back to playing without dampers.
